All Coaches must register for the upcoming meeting by completing the registration link found below.
Fill this short registration form out and also create your account and remember your password. Remember, beginning this year we will be moving our stats to our own website versus Maxpreps and this is the first step in that transition. There will be a $35 per fee charged for all coaches attending which will cover their CPR, Concussion, and Heat Stroke protocol training.
Coaches and staff unable to attend the meeting will still be required to view the training through livestream or watch a recorded version (for a fee). All Coaches must complete the training to be certified to coach at a TCAL school. Coaches who have not completed the required training will be ineligible to coach or volunteer.
Texas Christian Athletic League is proud to announce a partnership with Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We will be coordinating with FCA to assure all of our schools and coaches have access to their wealth of programs, opportunities, and events.
The Staff at FCA has the infrastructure and bandwidth to assist us in our efforts to give our coaches and student athletes the best training, motivation, and spiritual growth. This partnership is something we will be expounding on this coming school year. Jim Faulk, the area director of greater San Antonio, will be our special guest speaker to kick off our Coaches meeting and will give us more details on how we can take full advantage of a partnership with this great organization.
TCAL Back to School Spiritual Advance at Camp Eagle
TCAL will be holding a Back to School Spiritual Advance September 8th-10th at Camp Eagle. Registration will begin 4pm on Friday, but will continue through 12pm Saturday to accommodate students that may have commitments Friday evening. Camp Eagle has an incredible array of activities including one of the longest zip lines in North America (I've done it and it is incredible!) Cost will be about $145 per person. Please let us know if you are interested.
Our Board of Directors will meet Monday at July 31st with Registration beginning at 8:45am. I have attached a list of the current Board of Directors as well as a comprehensive agenda. This meeting is an essential part of our plans and planning for the upcoming school year.
You will also find our finalized SOE for the upcoming season. Due to the recent decision by TAPPS to disallow cross participation, we will need to spend some extra time assuring all games and schedules are covered. Please confirm with any TAPPS schools you have scheduled (especially football) the status of those games.
You will also find the 17-18 alignments attached. These alignments will also be finalized at the State Meeting as we have several teams whose membership is pending. Those teams will be added (or subtracted) after the Summer meeting.
Our new rep for Baden is Matt Nutt and I have copied him on this email but his phone number is 682.201.4813. Baden will be a featured sponsor on our website and Matt assures me he can get TCAL member schools great prices on balls. He will also be at the State Meeting if you have any questions about pricing or products.
August 31st - Sept 2nd TCAL, in partnership with the City of Corpus Christi and Under Armour, will be presenting the 1st Annual 'Battle of the Bay' Volleyball Tournament to held in various arenas throughout the city. This event will be open to TCAL member schools, as well as schools currently in TAPPS, UIL, and independents as well. This is an event that will attract some of the best teams in the region and we are looking forward to an excellent turn-out! If your school would be interested, please let us know.
